Metal Building Insulation

Metal Building Insulation Options

Simple-Save Insulation

The Simple Saver System is intended to create the standard depth space needed for the total specified insulation diameter plus deflection and deliver the maximum achievable insulation performance. Conductive structural features entering through the insulation require thermal breaks and may decrease overall performance. Correctly sealed ceiling and wall systems block air infiltration and separate the conductive steel building from the conditioned space air. The Simple Saver System offers low U-values and low emissivity values, stopping over 90% of all three types of heat transfer.

The Simple Saver roof liner system is engineered to be solid and durable for job site safety, is OSHA Compliant, and has a patented fall arrest system. The super-strong liner system endures the hardships of installation and grants workers underneath protection from falling objects. The liner arrangement then permanently maintains the insulation. This limits owners, designers, and contractors (Standard 29 CFR Definitions–1926.751 "Controlling Contractor"). The fall security benefits are free, but only with the patented Simple Saver System (Patent # 5901518).

Class A Fire Safety Rating & Sound Absorbing

The vapor retarder fabric liner of the conventional Simple Saver System is self-extinguishing as it complies with: ASTM 1136, Types I through VI; NFPA 701 Large Scale; flame spread of 25 or less per ASTM E-84 (equivalent to NFPA 255, ANSI 2.5 or UL/ULC 723). Special orders or altered products may be examined upon demand by the customer for the costs of the tests.

The Simple Saver System provides superior yet economical-friendly acoustic finishes where conventional suspended ceilings are not appropriate or not on the budget. The traditional system has 75% sound absorption (NRC 0.75). This fantastic by-product of the Simple Saver System comes free with the system. Excellent for:

  • gymnasiums Arenas
  • Houses of Worship
  • Manufacturing
  • Entertainment Spaces and
  • Multipurpose Rooms

Some minor wrinkles may be visible due to the large pieces of support fabric used.

A Multitude of Benefits

The Simple Saver System's free, bright white appearance is often used as an exposed interior finish in buildings. Purlins and girts are hidden, eliminating the cost to paint them. Various colors and strap patterns may be specified to obtain unique aesthetic appearances. The ceiling and wall surfaces are washable and easy to maintain.

The bright white, light-reflective surface enhances the lighting system's efficiency, eliminating about 30% of the number of light fixtures. Light reflectance tests of up to 85% are achieved. Savings of lighting equipment, wiring, and electricity result in substantial dollar savings for the building owner. Low ultraviolet producing light sources or UV filtered lenses are necessary to prevent UV degradation and obtain optimum service life.

The high-strength Simple Saver fabric liner isolates the cold conductive purlin and girt surfaces from the inside conditioned air, reducing the exposed conductive purlin and girt surface areas from about 50% of the roof and wall areas to a fraction of 1%. Water vapor transmission rate is = 0.02 grains per hour/sq. ft. for the standard fabric liner. Factory-made, triple extrusion welded seams are for safety and uniquely pressure resistant to assure the very low vapor permeance and vapor retarder integrity instead of thousands of staple holes or hidden, unsealed lap joints typical with laminated insulation.

Insulated Roof & Wall Panels

Meti-Span CFR is an insulated metal standing seam roof panel. It is the foremost innovation in all-in-one composite panel design, combining durable interior and exterior faces with Meti-Span's unmatched polyurethane core. The CFR root panel provides exceptional benefits, including a standing seam outer face for unsurpassed weathertight performance. Panel widths contribute to installation savings because there are fewer side joints to seal.

CFR roof panels are installed entirely from the top side with concealed clips and fasteners placed in the side joint. Cold Storage applications may require alternate methods of attachment. Factory cut panel ends, factory notching and factory swaged ends eliminate critical and extensive field reworking and reduce erection costs. Factory-installed backer plates at the end laps also eliminate pre-drilling for special fasteners and fastener tools.

Tuff Wall Insulated Metal Wall Panel

Metl-Span's Tuff Wall is a beautiful stucco-like insulated metal wall panel Mat exhibits the natural beauty that many designers and owners prefer. The exterior stucco-like surface of the panel is a hard aggregated fiber-reinforced polymer coating created with the factory-applied Tuff Cott finish system. Tuff Cote finish offers a highly durable impact and abrasion-resistant coating that withstands severe weather conditions.

Unlike field-applied finishes that are vulnerable to damp or cold weather during installation, fun Wall panels can be erected in virtually any weather condition. The interior face of the Tuff Wall panel is finished with an attractive Mesa profile and painted with a white polyester coating.

Tuff-Cast Insulated Metal Wall Panels

Metl-Span's new Tuff-Cast is a beautiful Insulated metal wall panel with the look of finished precast concrete. The exterior surface of the panel is a hard aggregated fiber-reinforced polymer coating created with the factory-applied Tuff-Cote finish system. The Tuff-Cote finish offers a highly durable impact and abrasion-resistant coating that withstands severe weather conditions.

Unlike field-applied finishes that are vulnerable to damp or cold weather during installation, Tuff-Cast panels can be erected in virtually any weather condition. The interior face of the Tuff-Cast panel is finished with an attractive Mesa profile and painted with a white polyester coating.

CF Architecutal/Horizontal Insulated Metal Wall Panels

The Metl-Span CF Architectural/Horizontal insulated metal wall panel is ideal for high-profile horizontal applications. Designed to install with concealed clips and fasteners in the side joint, CF Architectural/Horizontal wall panels provide maximum design flexibility and a beautiful high-tech appearance. The horizontal interlocking joint can be varied for visual impact. It may be ordered flush or with a ⅜" deep reveal of ¼", ½", ¾", 1", 1½", 2", 2 ½", or 3" width.

The panel ends are folded to eliminate the need for metal trim at the vertical butt joint. The joint is sealed with a black dry gasket to create a shadow line effect that can be emulated in the horizontal reveal.
